This article is about the junction in West Lothian.
For the similarly named junction in Wolverhampton, see Wood End Island

Woodend Junction lies at the northern end of the B8020, where it terminates on the A904. Although it has always been a Staggered Crossroads, the actual layout was changed substantially in the early 1960s. The A904 originally has a nasty double bend here, with the current cut off built to the north to avoid it. The old line of the A904 remains as the property accesses, with a new house built at the western end, while the junction with the B8020 has been moved north. The current line of the B8020 appears to be a new road built with the 'bypass', the old A904 line now being, in part, the road past the houses - the turning head at the top perhaps showing the original width. The unclassified Abercorn Road to the north remains unchanged.
