What's New? or SABRE News

August 8th 2001: Well, this is the news. Lots of emails have come in, loads of stuff has gone on, and so I am going to try to totally update the site. The Moonfruit attempt failed, as Moonfruit is about to start charging for hosting! No way! So I will try my best to plough through HTML Editors to update and upgrade this one. I will be adding all the email sent to the site, and there has been quite a bit. Improvement list to go here...

October 8th 1999: I must apologise for my lack of updates, but I have been suffering a bit with my health, and so the website has to take a bit of a back seat. The good news is that I have just obtained Microsoft's AutoRoute Express 2000, which I have been drooling over for ages. Now I have to get used to it, so expect new pages soon!!!

September 15th 1999: Hello! SABRE is growing! Mr. Peel from the DETR sent me a load of info on how roads are numbered, this has been transcribed by me and is in the "School" section. I have a new web page creator, and am trying to learn how to use it! When I do, the pages that previously had a very "textual" feel will hopefully gain a bit of new colour and pzazz. I have no scanner, so I had to painstakingly re-create the UK road numbering diagrams by hand, ooh long job that. Watch out for new updates as and when.

Also, as my leg is plagueing me again, I have tried to curtail my web activity, as sitting at the PC just makes it worse. However, I am hoping to put more pages on today, or tomorrow. There have been many additions to SABRE which haven't been mentioned here, and I am hoping to add a "Views and Opinions" section, to which everyone can sound off about things that bother them, road-wise.

August 27th 1999: More information. Andy Martin emailed me again (very interesting chap) and put me onto a young fella called James Lin. He has an American site which is more or less the US equivalent of SABRE (only his looks better!) and I had a look. It really is good, particularly as I have driven over there and recognise the images. Therefore, I have added a link to his site and I highly recommend a visit.

August 26th 1999: Oh yes! We have email. A nice man named Andy Martin sent a nice email and this has spurred me into a frenzy of activity and shameless pride. Therefore, I have added some lovely images of a few of our favourite motorways, find em here. Also, in the vague hope that SABRE may eventually receive a bit more mail, I have added a Feedback page, read what Andy sent, and perhaps send one yerself. You can also mail me pics of roads, or cars or cars on roads, in fact anything vaguely related. Also, yet another page, which contains my present "Top 10" roads. New roads added: A18(M), A6144(M), M41. Enjoy the new stuff.

August 21st 1999: Created the Roads Index and added first two pages of road data, A38 and A42. Bits of rejigging and that kind of thing. Fab.

Aug 13th 1999: Site created and first few pages shoved on to an unsuspecting internet. The site was initially built up by Brad and the elusive Prestonbypass Man (PBM). The link between the UK Roads Fun Palace Club on Yahoo and the SABRE Website established.
