Drivers don't have to go through Perth on A9 to M90.

Re: Is Perth getting a bypass??
It's essentially a distributor/development road for new development to the north of the River Almond and a link road across the Tay to the North of the city to the A93 and A94.

If that's phase 2 then what's phase 1?Ruperts Trooper wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2019 20:52 The Cross Tay Link Road (CTLR) is Phase 2 of the Perth Transport Futures Project. This is a much needed new road linking the A9 over the River Tay to the A93 and A94 north of Scone. It includes realignment of a section of the A9, provision of a new bridge over the River Tay and railway and provision of a new grade separated junction on the A9 north of Inveralmond Roundabout.

The first phase, which was recently completed, was altering the A9/A85 junction and building the first part of the new link road into a new housing development area to the North of the River Almond.

Can I just say that, despite the title and the initial posts, the thread veered hugely off-course, majoring on Dundee.djw1981 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2019 22:42 viewtopic.php?f=1&t=36535#p855146 should these not be merged?
Dundee is not Perth.

I think the new road will be numbered A94 rather than B9993.It will be single carriageway but still a strategic route.

The part that's been built so far is certainly numbered B9993 - a somewhat odd choice of number, and out of zone too. Though thinking about it, "9" and "93" may indicate that it's supposed to link the A9 and A93 after all! (B993 was already taken).
I'd guess if completed through to the A93/A94 it would probably get an A number, and I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes A9993 (in the same way that the B8082 became the A8082). I can't see it taking the A94 number - this would mean downgrading the A94 through Scone, which would still be an important route.
From the SABRE Wiki: B9993 :
The B9993 is the number which has been assigned to some of the new roads being built around Bertha Park and Inveralmond to the north west of Perth. This makes it the highest numbered B road in the UK, and it is likely to stay as such for a long time as the next highest number in use is the B9178. The route is the first part of the Springfield Link Road designed to open up the Bertha Park area as a
