Fake signs

Post by Klepsydra »

Spotted this today on Westwood Hill, Crystal Palace. I wonder how long it will last before it's removed.

I didn't have time to give it close scrutiny, but whoever made it did a pretty good job. I had to blink at it twice to be certain it was an impostor and not official.

(The Beast of Sydenham was supposedly a cryptid roaming the area in 2005 or so, but this is the first new reference I've seen to it in years.)

It would be better in lower case but at least the font is correct.

I've been passing this sign for quite a few years and still have no idea what means or if it is doctored. I noticed on GSV that it is right outside the Leisure FM headquarters, don't know if it is anything to do with them.

Surrex appears to be the name of a village so seems genuine to me.

Speaking of doctored signs, this one has been in this state for a few years.

Re doctored signs, there is this one on the B2200 in Ewell. Been there like that for some years.

There are some more examples of doctored signs to be found in our Gallery. https://www.sabre-roads.org.uk/wiki/ind ... Road_Signs

I should put this in there.

This great sign has recently been erected at Lakeside Shopping Village in Doncaster where shoppers may be crossing between the bulk of the shops and a large B&M that has recently opened in a former Toys R Us.

Is the Beast of Sydenham code for that speed camera?
