That's pretty cool! I wonder if the household had to request them or if they were given them?delinquentwoody wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 21:44 This house
https://maps.app.goo.gl/7CxQXVVh4V4PZGn89 has a 'mini' set of traffic lights on a post at the end of its drive, which duplicate the lights further on around the corner so they know whether to expect oncoming traffic or not. I've never seen 'mini' traffic lights anywhere else.

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.06684 ... 312!8i6656. This traffic light system in Ipswich has traffic lights for a parking space, is this considered a private property?

Euxton, strictly speaking. BV is the other side of the railway.
Anyway, not sure if this one has been posted, at the Hartwood roundabout where the A6 meets the A674.

Re: Traffic lights for private properties
2 very local ones to me, several driveways within this junction have their own triggers and phase of the lights via heads that only point at the driveways. It's actually easier for the residents to get out of their driveways than it is to get in them at busy times.
Further along the road at the next set of traffic lights is a property that doesn't have it's own set of lights but does have a sensor to trigger them due to the positioning of the driveway exit. This is the layout before the changes with the old junction setup, there's now a hole in this hedge to the right of the wonky tree trunk and the homeowner drives out of their driveway at such an angle they can't get lined up with the stop line on Sherwood Dr, the solution was to put their own trigger in the path to trigger the main lights. [url=https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.79735 ... 312!8i6656]From a different angle on a streetmap view taken after the changes you can see the new bit of tarmac and just about make out the red circular detector buried in it. The entry to the property is round the corner next to the 2 pedestrians & cyclist, for a while after the junction changes and before the new exit was created it was a nightmare for the homeowner to exit their driveway, now they enter from the main road and exit from the side one, I've never seen them enter from the side one.

Re: Traffic lights for private properties
Some signals have been installed at the junction next to my mother's house. The initial 'plans' sent out at the and of last year mentioned loops installed for driveways within the junction complex to 'stop all traffic', but I'm not sure if that's come to fruition. There certainly isn't any extra signal heads in addition to the regualr two signal heads per direction, currently bagged up. I'll have to take more note next time we have an outdoor meeting!
One thing I've noted from Fenlander's links there is that Lincolnshire seem to use an 'X' shaped loop for right turn pockets. I don't think I've seen that before, especially locally to me. They're usually a standard box around here.

Those loops aren't "X"s, they are subliminal messages from extinction rebellion.traffic-light-man wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 14:47 Some signals have been installed at the junction next to my mother's house. Diamonds, boxes, oblique parallels & X’s, all within one junction. The diamonds & obliques are set back from the lights, the normal box is just before the white line and the X as noted is in the right turn pocket. https://goo.gl/maps/mhz9kUd2LLKajiBG6

Re: Traffic lights for private properties
The United Counties Depot in Rushden (Long closed, now demolished) had its own set of lights to exit the depot onto a busy junction.
I believe the crews had to press a button on the wall, and the lights would sequence to a green.

Bit of an odd one since its got left and right aspects.
I'd presume the aspects has something to do with if either pedestrian crossings are being used.

Nope, it'll be because the road opposite - the "straight ahead" direction - is a No Entry.jervi wrote: ↑Tue Jul 28, 2020 14:38 https://www.google.com/maps/@51.1177418 ... 312!8i6656

There is a set of traffic lights at this junction, which seems to have two traffic lights for a private road to a private property, a farm.

Re: Traffic lights for private properties
This junction(s) has two private accesses light controlled.

Only found this because these lights are being replaced soon. https://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/news/ar ... e-spalding
I'd imagine at these lights, only 1 direction has green at any time, it would be interesting to see what would happen if vehicles appear at all 6 directions at the same time!

Here at County Gates on the erstwhile Poole/Bournemouth border:
https://goo.gl/maps/G9Jw3NSuYZ33dLom6
the car park to LV's offices, in the middle of the gyratory, has traffic lights governing its exit.
NB This is the same StreetView view used in another thread, querying the layout of Bournemouth Town Centre on one of the flag direction signs (swing round to the left a little)!

Which reminds me that the exit from the car park for the Wesleyan building in the middle of Colmore Circus, Birmingham, also has its own set of signals.TS wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 14:41 Here at County Gates on the erstwhile Poole/Bournemouth border:

Re: Traffic lights for private properties
Spotted this one a while ago, a substation with its own signal-controlled exit here.

Six, including the one on the other side of the road. The exit crossing looks interesting too, with only one signal head.jervi wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 22:15 https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.18338 ... 312!8i6656
Five in one here.

Yes 6! and it looks like that one serves multiple households.traffic-light-man wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 23:02Six, including the one on the other side of the road. I'm going to presume that all the private accesses get the same green phase

Re: Traffic lights for private properties
Perhaps. I would suspect that exit crossing with its own stop line and signal head plays in to it somewhere too, given it only has the one head.
Elsewhere, this property has a primary and secondary, with detection via video (just off image, unfortunately).

The first one I ever noticed was this one in West Hollywood for a gas station
https://goo.gl/maps/XZPvr733A7SeL2U8A
Always looked odd to me seeing as there's a road running just to the west that would allow people to exit
