Re: Longest pedestrian crossing
Access to the ferry marshalling area in Rothesay is controlled by traffic lights without pedestrian signals. Lights changed to green when I was half way across at the weekend. It's around 30m kerb to kerb.

Re: Longest pedestrian crossing
Three lanes. It's not the longest but trust me, this is a horrible crossing especially from a pedestrian's perspective. Far too much going on in a small area, the bend, the junctions, lane changes, lots of unlawful markings and signs within the controlled area, some tatty belishas, no tactiles, trademark Staffordshire poor carriageway surface quality, off-street accesses, the one way, poor pedestrian visibility, adjacent retirement accommodation...

Queens Road Belfast, a wide ex-shipyard road, now offices, film studios etc.
https://www.google.com/maps/@54.6087547 ... 384!8i8192 could easily be a 4 lane road (indeed citybound it's 1+bus lane now)
Elsewhere in the city centre a few 5 lane crossings

Unfortunately, these kinds of zebra crossing are far too common in my country.wallmeerkat wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 14:21 Queens Road Belfast, a wide ex-shipyard road, now offices, film studios etc.

In my opinion, zebra crossings should only be used on roads with up to 2 lanes.
And ideally, only on roads with 1 lane in each direction, to avoid the danger of a vehicle passing a stopped vehicle, and driving straight into a crossing pedestrian.
If a controlled crossing is needed on a road with more lanes, a Puffin crossing should be used.

Re: Longest pedestrian crossing
Indeed they are slightly safer if split by a traffic island eg. https://www.google.com/maps/@54.5919755 ... 384!8i8192WhiteBlueRed wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2023 09:42Bfivethousand wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 11:49 Three lanes. Though this one has very recently been replaced by a proper pelican crossing https://www.google.com/maps/@54.591967, ... 384!8i8192
