From the Instagram account Spomenik Database, a roadsign in Greece still pointing to Yugoslavia

This one https://www.google.com/maps/@57.4198429 ... &entry=ttu must have been out of date when erected, as A864 was declassified in the 1980s but A87 was only extended to Portree (and Uig which makes it relevant here) on the opening of the Skye Bridge in 1995. And it looks newer than any of the other signs at either end of the former A864.

Not as non-compliant as if they had removed the AHB equipment without having a new Level Crossing order made!Bryn666 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 19:09More surprised that a half barrier automatic crossing has been retained for what is now clearly a footpath and cycle route only. Surely this is just ripe for non-compliance.Nathan_A_RF wrote: ↑Thu Oct 19, 2023 22:07 Cyclists still need warning, as do pedestrians in fact, of a level crossing. Though perhaps not of risk of grounding.
It’s complicated by access being available in one direction over the crossing (removable bollards on the offside) but no further (fixed bollards on the other side) but I’m wondering whether the closure was a local authority initiative with the station operator’s consent (since it was restricting access to the station) and whether Network Rail was involved much in the first place. Either way, perhaps the vehicular access downhill is a good excuse for NR not to bother applying to requip the crossing and obtain an LC order.
Re: Out of date road signs
There is a roundabout near me in Whitehaven that was built for an open cast coal project in the early eighties that still shows Keekle Opencast, even though the open cast mine closed in 1992. The road itself is now a short stub that ends at a gate.
Re: Out of date road signs
This sign warned drivers about level crossing next to the Thornton-Cleveleys station which was closed in 1970. Howewer level crossing itself was used till late 90s when railway line which runned thru station was closed. 24 years after level crossing was used for very last time sign still is in place.

Re: Out of date road signs
Well, the poles for the signals are still in place, as is the track, though the gates appear to be fixed shut. The line would appear to be disused rather than abandoned.Komi san wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 11:04 This sign warned drivers about level crossing next to the Thornton-Cleveleys station which was closed in 1970. Re: Out of date road signs
Here is a sign telling you to turn left in advance of a banned right turn at the junction of the A1245 (the old A130) and Rawreth Lane/Church Road, to get to Rawreth Shot. The trouble is that the new A130 route cut-off the original A129 London Road that this route led to and that is routed further south now to cross the A130. So you really need to go down straight to the next junction with the A129 unless you want something very circuitous.
Also Ian.

They somehow forgot removed these signs two years after A540 autobahn was downgraded to B59

Is this an old National Speed Limit repeater sign on the wooden pole? I would have thought it too high up the pole to be valid, but out of date as cure 30mph speed limit.

Thought it was. Someone may use that as a reason for exceeding the 30mph speed limit!Bryn666 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 13:03It is indeed an ancient NSL repeater!Sirsquinn wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 12:23 Is this an old National Speed Limit repeater sign on the wooden pole? A road number was on this one (albeit in the wrong font?) but, even more rarer, the Welsh translation, especially this far south east where you can practically spit into England.Bryn666 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 14:50 https://maps.app.goo.gl/NF8GqsgSpuKtgi5r6

It was briefly replaced with a smaller one before dying a death about 10 years ago.
