I thought I'd start off a thread about Greater Manchester lighting, seeing as there's none here, and it's a fairly large area
To start with, here's some lighting from Wigan, the part I often go to.
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?client=fi ... 5,,1,-5.74 - the bracket seems rare nowadays, aren't most of these type sleeved or replaced? Notice the Beta 5, I think it's an 80s version!
Just over the border in Salford on Bridgwater Road:

- a classic design, I've also seen one of these on Green Lane in Standish. Surely there's not many of these left in the country now?

plus this rather short example above of a Philips post-top lantern.

Above is a fairly common Wigan lantern; looks dull, and I'm sure I've seen one or two with WRTL 2600s fitted
(another common Wigan lantern, but there's been no Delta post-tops yet....)
Over in Didsbury, they've got the Iridium - as has much of Manchester....

The previous-style lanterns - with their "angle" brackets still exist,

I am surprised that the Urbis ZX1 or Evolo hasn't replaced them, but I suppose those are the Salfordian equivalent of the CU Highfield Liverpool.
Not sure what these are but they still seem to work... surprised no replacements took place!

Apologies if this is link-heavy but I'll hopefully get some new photos soon!
Anyhow, has Greater Manchester got its own PFI for streetlighting planned or not?
