Traffic signal pole colour

Post by Dave908 »

What colour are the poles painted at traffic signal installations in your local authority area?

In the case of Wigan council it appears that all new traffic signal poles are painted black, which I think looks a bit better than the usual grey, which was the colour the poles at new installations were painted up until around 2003.

I went for other colour - most are grey, but a few black ones are appearing on the Square in Barnstaple.

Grey apart from a few town centre installations.

Other - they're yellow round this neck of the woods, presumably for better visibility :)

The older traffic lights in the Bromley area are grey while the newer ones with LCD bulbs have black poles.

In East Ayrshire they are mainly grey, but there is at least one black one near Rugby Park. I prefer black ones tbh.
