Inexplicable too, as the M66 already existed when this was installed!

That's actually the design of light - the "Mr Floppy" of the sign lighting world. Odd that the red roundel has faded but the bar is almost pristine!

Different material for the bar, perhaps? I know an old Jackson County (Alabama) shield I own has had the yellow border and text printed onto the shield fade to white but the yellow numbers stuck onto it have remained a bright yellow.
Probably busy documenting grade crossings in the southeastern United States.

I saw the light on the 2012 Streetview and assumed it'd fallen off or was knocked off. As you can tell, my knowledge of such matters is not very good!

These could well have been mentioned previously but it does no harm to show what's still standing.

The 2 rightward-pointing signs looked much darker when I saw them than they appear in this image. Apologies for the GSV-link - of which I am not a fan - but it would be awkward to take a photograph here, obviously: A6070

I didn't see if the 'Motorway Regulations. No stopping. No pedestrians' sign is still at the northbound exit on this roundabout.

I've put this one on the Tring bypass as a mank rather than a botch as it looks like a bit has fallen off revealing what's underneath. But it looks decidedly odd

not sure where the bar is for 'manky', but i also saw this recently- you have to go to 2010 if you don't want it blurred...
learning the highway code has got me unnaturally interested in our road network...
