Re: Rare Roadsigns
Junction on inside of a bend is rare but certantly not extra rare. Here's two on the A272 just after before a right hand bend, followed by a junction on the right just before a left hand bend.

What certainly is rarer is the crossroads on a bend sign introduced in 2016. I don't know of that anywhere.

60 degrees north - is there anywhere else in the UK with a sign marking crossing a line of latitude?

Re: Rare Roadsigns
There doesn't appear to be a marker at 50 degrees north in the only place it could realistically be, so I'll have to say no.swissferry wrote: ↑Sun Sep 11, 2022 17:58 60 degrees north - is there anywhere else in the UK with a sign marking crossing a line of latitude?

Passed this highly informative sign earlier today. Note quite sure if it should be on bodged instead.

Re: Rare Roadsigns
Ah Cornwall harbour built for traffic appoaching under one or two horse power and now overwhelmed with Chelsea Tractors. See also St. Ives for similar "Keep the hell out of our town" messages. See this one. So can you go to the minor injuries unit or not? It was actually also missing the No Motor Vehicles sign at the junction in 2009, after which I outed this sign on the botched thread. CCC were clearly monitoring and subsequently stuck that up. Still ignored.Alderpoint wrote: ↑Wed Oct 26, 2022 17:10 Passed this highly informative sign earlier today. Re: Rare Roadsigns
We have pelican, toucan and puffin crossings, perhaps this is an eagle crossing?

For the record, a tiny bit of The Lizard pensinsular is the only part of mainland Britain that is south of the 50 degrees north line of latitude. The tip of the peninsular is 4.6 km south of this latitude. The only other part of the British Isles that is south of this latitude are the Scilly Isles which lie wholly south of this latitide.SteelCamel wrote: ↑Sun Sep 11, 2022 21:11There doesn't appear to be a marker at 50 degrees north in the only place it could realistically be, so I'll have to say no.swissferry wrote: ↑Sun Sep 11, 2022 17:58 60 degrees north - is there anywhere else in the UK with a sign marking crossing a line of latitude?

It could have a military significance as it would mark the center line of grid zone 30V in the UTM coordinate system and as such also give a point of reference for surveyors.swissferry wrote: ↑Sun Sep 11, 2022 17:58 60 degrees north - is there anywhere else in the UK with a sign marking crossing a line of latitude?

Re: Rare Roadsigns
Advisory unsuitable for lorries or unsuitable for motor vehicles are common but this is the only advisory unsuitable for pedestrians I've seen.

Re: Rare Roadsigns
Are blue textual signs like these actually enforceable, or are they advisory only? Given that there is 625.1.wallmeerkat wrote: ↑Tue Jan 10, 2023 10:24Fairly common are they not, at least in Northern IrelandNathan_A_RF wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 18:19 Well there's these...

Re: Rare Roadsigns
For the ones in Southampton, I asked the council and they basically said they were advisory.
Re: Rare Roadsigns
An oddly specific restriction sign on the A27.

Re: Rare Roadsigns
There used to be a few of those around Appelby too - aimed at gypsy horse racing. Not checked if they still exist.

Re: Rare Roadsigns
Mention of Appleby made me remember that it has a rare example of a brown tourist sign for the National Rail station.
