Judging by these, it would make more sense to have a length restriction on the hairpin section. The thing is this is a primary route with no non-lengthy alternatives so banning non-important vehicles was probably as far as they could go.

Allowing of course that there is another one approaching from the other direction. Follow the road down in this time-frame and it's high tide and you can see the beach material deposited on the road.
Have had several holidays at Portmellon. Waves crashed over this piece of road most afternoons at high tide when I was there last month. It was quite exciting waiting for the right moment then accelerating through in the open top motor with its immaculately maintained cream leather interior. Not quite as rough as on this video fortunately. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFs9DsX-ESc

Don't often see length prohibition signs. Interesting that both imperial and metric are placed. I would take a guess that the turn and the following roundabout in both directions is too much for a vehicle exceeding the stated length to make.

Incidentally, this is a fantastic 'bypass' added to the side of a roundabout. A little "trick" cutoff like this saves you from having to go all the way around the roundabout. I think it was added at the same time Rushden Lakes was built.

Absolutely mad road. I've also noticed at the top of the hill, A170 is on a flipdown board https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@54.23997 ... ?entry=ttu I where the other message is about a Park and Ride https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@54.23993 ... ?entry=ttu

Not seen a time-restricted "no slow vehicles" sign before.

I do think the placement of the "no cycling" roundel is ambiguous. It should be on its own sign, or clearly marked with "At any time" below it.

60 sign on NSL S2 road near Northern Ireland border

https://www.google.com/maps/@54.5479755 ... ?entry=ttu

Other border signs just use the NSL symbol

It's not even at the border, and it's preceded by an NSL sign too!

Its equivalent is shoehorned in here: https://goo.gl/maps/nMu5dmm7MiG1dbG28

And the odd combination of UK and RoI flag signs on the same pole here: https://goo.gl/maps/4MbLr44BXyuUgR4y6

Very odd, and Castlederg isn't even spelt correctly!

I think they’re both ROI signs - “Castlederg” uses a lowercase a without a hook, which is a form only ever seen in ROI.

If it was it would be strange, here is a ROI Castlederg sign for comparison - https://www.google.com/maps/@54.8027254 ... ?entry=ttu

Typically Gaelic in italics, English in CAPS, usually with accompanying information such as road number of km distance.

Spelling error makes it look completely amateurish too.

Projecting Buildings. St. Andrew's Street, St.Ives (Cornwall) and probably a unique combination of warning, supplementary plate and regulatory signs.

Given the 6'6" width restriction, the non-prescribed (and unauthorised?) projecting buildings unsuitable for HGVs sign is superfluous, as all HGVs are generally 8'-ish wide.

I saw a similar variant recently but with the left turn even further around the corner. Somewhere in the vicinity of Measham or Ibstock.

Meanwhile, on the B road up to Dunnet Head a couple of weeks ago I saw my first one of these (though I suspect home made).

It's the pre-1989 Irish typeface!

There is a low flying helicopters sign on the A46, there can't be many of these around.
