The recently discovered RAC document from 1958 lists the A991 in Dundee as following Trades Lane and St Andrews Street.
The 1947 OS Six Inch sheet shows this route as being part of the A930.
By 1954, the 1:2500 sheet shows it as the A931, and the 1:10,000 sheet from 1960 and 1968 do as well.
In each of these cases, the number is explicitly printed at the southern end of Trades Lane.
However, as the A991 has only ever been identified as being the Dundee Inner Ring Road, is this a strange coincidence with the RAC making an error, or is it an error on the part of the OS who assumed that the A931 had been extended rather than a new number created?
