Eggborough Bypass opening date

Post by Ross Spur »

The new A19 road is shown as under construction in the 1985 AA Motorway Atlas of Great Britain. Just wondering if anyone has any maps just after that date showing it as complete?

On 1:250k OS Routemaster sheet 5, it's shown as under construction on Revision F (1985) and complete on Revision G (1987).

Thanks Steven.

I'd like to narrow down another small A19 scheme, a 0.25 mile diversion to the south of Skelton and Fairfield Hospital (north of York). It's after the 1967 one inch map but before the 1982/83 1:50000 map. Any further detail appreciated.

Best I can do is that assuming you mean this kink, it's still there on the 1975 1:50k sheet (First Series Revision A/*).

That's the one. It's narrowed it down to 1975 -82. Cheers.

I've just gone through my "cold storage" Landrangers, and it is not shown on Sheet 105 Second Series Revision A (1978), but is shown on 105 Second Series Revision A/* (1980)

Thanks Steven. Adding them to the A19 page now.
