Description:A1000 Old GSJ - 3

This picture is taken looking west from under the B197 bridge. These days, the A1000 continues round to the right, with a local road going into Welwyn village, but when first built, the right hand of the fork would have operated in reverse, allowing northbound traffic to turn east along the (then) B1000 towards Digswell.
