Bunarkaig Bridge is a comparatively modern structure which carries the B8005 across the River Arkaig as it flows out into Loch Lochy at Bunarkaig. The current bridge carries a wide single track road with a pavement on either side between metal parapet barriers. Due to the width of the river here, there are two spans carrying a concrete deck, with the pier offset in the river channel. Immediately upstream on the south bank, the stone abutment of an older bridge can be seen, although its opposite number is hidden by vegetation. Old mapping confirms that the old bridge spanned here, and while there are no obvious records for it, it is most likely that it was built by Thomas Telford in the early 1800s as part of his commission on Highland Roads and Bridges.
