The new Junction on the A985
Here is the sign seen at the new A985 Junction at Kincardine. You notice that the A876 is renumbered A8765. This puts this sign a few years in the future.

Junction at the Fife end of the Kincardine Bridge, where the A876 used to head through the town, and the A985 started heading off to the right. Since the opening of the Clackmannanshire Bridge, the A985 extends across the Kincardine Bridge, and the former A876 through Kincardine is unclassified
Taken from a 1965 road map showing the dual carriageway A876/A80 before the motorway were added.
When the M80 was extended north, the A876 was upgraded to motorway until J2 with the later section completed in the early 80s.

Proposed Roundabout for the Upper Forth Crossing - This is the proposed new roundabout for the A876. The A876 will use the new Upper Forth Crossing while the A985 uses the exising Kidcardine Bridge. This is the sign from my A876 Account
Merge in turn The Fife approaches to the Kincardine Bridge, much quieter now the new bridge is open. The road from the left is the new Kincardine by-pass which takes Fife bound traffic to the east of Kincardine on Forth. Traffic heading to Clackmannanshire will probably be using the new bridge. Kincardine is very much quieter now than a few years earlier when all traffic using the crossing passed through the centre.
