Looking east along the Upton bypass, opened 1975, where the A350 joins the A35 for a mile or so, before heading into Poole along the Holes Bay road. It used to go straight across into Poole via Hamworthy and Upton, until 1988.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on May 20, 2007 by sotonsteveThis is the end of the famed Enbankment. Numbered A3211 and a mixed D2/S4 road, it is one that passes various famous London Landmarks. A famous road, the last few miles of the London Mathorn are on it. From here it goes toward Chaning Cross, Embankent Tube Station until it ends in the City.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Sep 27, 2006 by Sunil_of_YoxleyLooking west near Madingley, showing the A1303 junction off-slip crossing the A428 mainline. Just visible are blue signs westbound which presumably show 'end of dual carriageway ahead'. Both the A428 and A1303 were previously the A45 in ages past.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Sep 27, 2006 by Sunil_of_YoxleyLooking east, just east of the start-point at the A1303 junction near Madingley. This used to be the A45 until the early '90s, as well as the entire dual carriageway to Felixstowe. Now the section east of M11 J14 (Girton, only a couple of mile east of here) is A14.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Apr 17, 2005 by M4SimonA new dual carriageway is finally getting constructed here in an attempt to end the jams on approach to the A90. Eventually this will run all the way from the Altens roundabout to the existing section of dual carriageway at the junction with the A90.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on May 26, 2005 by QueegThis shows the road in all its glory along with the railway. This whole area was a railway before rail traffic declined and the city council decided to lump a road in.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on May 06, 2005 by QueegThis shows the impressive Union Bridge which carries Union Street (and a shopping centre too!) over the valley. The B986 meets up with the Wapping Street - Guild Street gyratory, and eventually this should form part of a major North/South route (this part of the B986 is woefully underused, it's one of the best stretches of road in Aberdeen in my opinion)

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on May 06, 2005 by QueegThis shows a slight height difference between the carriageways. It should be noted that the railway is lower as well (though, the whole valley used to be full of various sidings)
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on May 06, 2005 by QueegThis is the start of the little dual carriageway that runs under Union Street, Aberdeen. The road continues up to another dual carriagway after the roundabout.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on May 06, 2005 by QueegNote the very long slips. The road in right foreground is and old section of A128 that used to cross the A127 here at an at-grade roundabout.
