India - The ubiquitous autorickshaw

Manufactured by the Bajaj company, no visit to India can be complete without a ride on one of these! This particular vehicle was pictured in the port of Cochin in southern India. Not strictly a roads-related photo, I know, but here you can see the registration, with KL signifying the State of Kerala, and 7 for the district of Ernakulam (in which Cochin is situated).

India - NH-47 (National Highway 47), traffic lights in Angamally, Kerala. Note digital countdown clock, I have seen these in quite a few towns in Kerala, and also in the western city of Mumbai (Bombay). The other place I've seen them was in Banff, Canada. I was so surprised at this nice 20km D2 stretch with new lane markings and solid white verge markings that I didn't take any pics until quite late on!

India - NH-47 (National Highway 47), stretch of nice D2 through the small town of Angamally, Kerala. Unfortunately, it becomes single not far north of here. - Coppermine - 4752.JPG
