The N21 is a Route Nationale running though central and southern France, from Limoges to Lourdes.

Unlike many Routes Nationales, the N21 has survived largely intact, while many similar roads have been detrunked, particularly in 1973 and 2006. This is probably because there are no comparable Autoroutes running in the same direction, and consequently it is still a nationally important road.

Originally, the N21 ran further south to Gavarnie in the Pyrenees, this has now been downgraded to the D921, similar to many other detrunked Routes Nationales. Historically, the road ran to the Spanish border at Puerto de Bujaruelo, which is now a hiking trail.
