C46 (Argyll and Bute)

The C46 is a useful route across the north of Mull, providing the most direct route to Dervaig from the ferries. Despite only being a C road, the route is little worse than some of the islands A roads, with good visibility for much of the route, and few sharp bends. It starts at Aros Bridge, a short distance north of Salen, on the A848, and heads west, climbing up Glen Aros to the moorland at the summit. The road then turns to a more northerly course, following the River Bellart downstream to the coast at Dervaig. It meets the B8073 near the famous church at Dervaig, with the round tower.
