Castle Hill Roundabout is a junction on the west side of the Inner Distribution Road in Reading. Castle Hill connects to the Bath Road. It was formerly known as Castle Street Roundabout, that street being on the eastern side and leading to the town centre.
History
The junction was the southern end of Stage 1 of the Inner Distribution Road which opened on 16 November 1969. It came into full use with the opening of Stage 2 (to Southampton Street) which was due to be opened on 10 January 1971 (the official opening was to be later). Contractor for both stages was Cementation Construction Ltd..
