Glastonbury's bypass was built with roundabouts at every junction, except one, so it is no surprise to find a roundabout where the B3151 meets the A39. The A39 bypass has been built along the trackbed of the former Somerset & Dorset Railway line, and the name Northload Bridge comes from the road bridge over that line, which is now long gone.
Northload Bridge is also the street-name for the B3151 at this point, and it is a rather narrow road too. Fortunately, there was sufficient land to the north of the houses to allow the road to be realigned to meet the new bypass roundabout and allow sufficient room for turning lanes on the approach. The road is then able to pick up the alignment of Northload Street into the town centre. For many years after the bypass opened, this was a stub end of the B3151, but it is now unclassified.
