A1079 : The A1079 is one of the most major Axxxx roads in Great Britain. A former trunk road between York and Hull, at nearly 40 miles it is one of the longest Axxxx roads ,though the A1101 is longer at more than 50 miles, and there are a couple of other Axxxx roads around the country in the 40-50 bracket. Based entirely in Yorkshire, it is one of the region's main roads.
