The bridge carrying the A803 across the Bonny Water in Bonnybridge is a relatively modern concrete arch structure. However, it is undoubted that the site is much older than the modern crossing, simply due to the name of the town - Bonnybridge! Little information seems to be available on the current bridges predecessors, nor indeed on the modern concrete arch itself, and investigation on the ground is seriously hampered by the thick vegetation lining the riverbanks. The roadway across the bridge is wide enough for two way traffic with vehicles parked on both sides alongside the pavements.
