Cleuchbrae, on the B7076 (ex-A74) immediately north of Junction 16 of the A74(M), was the location of the north end of a section of the A74(M) from December 1994 to May 1999. The last rural section of M74/A74(M) to be built was from Paddy's Rickle Bridge to J16, and was usually, if loosely, referred to as Paddy's Rickle Bridge to Cleuchbrae.

For more details see A74(M) J16, and for general background see M74 and A74(M) History.
