Heart of Scotland services is located on the M8 between Edinburgh and Glasgow and was originally named Harthill services.
History
Work was completed on laying out the sites, providing hard standing, erecting high mast lighting and bringing in water, electricity services during 1969 and it was reported as open for petrol, oil and parking on both sides of the motorway by Wishaw Press of 19 December 1969. A building agreement was entered into with Highway Restaurants Ltd. for them to complete the buildings and bring them into use within 21 months.
