Topcliffe Road Interchange was constructed as a fork with southbound facing slip roads. It was converted with north facing slip roads in 2018-9.

- The B1448 Trunk Road (Topcliffe Road, Thirsk) (Detrunking) Order 2019 - The junction of the A168 Trunk Road and the B1448 has been reconfigured to include a new dumbbell roundabout arrangement, altering the line of the B1448 Topcliffe Road, connecting with the new northern roundabout. The purpose of the Order is to authorise the Secretary of State to remove the trunk road status from the length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to the Order, the responsibility for the maintenance of which will thereafter pass to the local Highway Authority.
