Scarborough is a seaside resort in Yorkshire. It has two bays joined by the ruins of a castle which was destroyed in the English Civil War in the 17th Century.
It is at the east end of the A64, and the very first Variable Message Signs were placed in Malton to divert traffic to Scarborough off the A64 and onto the A169-A170 route when the A64 was congested.
