Woodhouse Junction is a roundabout on A514 at Woodville to the east of Swadlincote. It is named after the housing estate to the north-east of the junction.
History
It was originally a crossroads junction with a TOTSO for with A514 branching off up Woodhouse Street, whilst B5005 continued to Swadlincote.
The TOTSO was removed in 1996 with A514 continuing straight through the junction to Swadlincote and Cadley Hill following the opening of William Nadins Way to the west of Swadlincote. Woodhouse Street became unclassified.
The junction became a roundabout with the construction of the Woodville Regeneration Route which opened in 2021. Woodhouse Street was bisected by the new road. The official route is to continue along Kiln Way to the next roundabout and retrace to then turn left up the south-eastern part of Woodhouse Street to Church Gresley.
The first section of Kiln way is the only dual carriageway in Swadlincote, albeit D1.
