The A2 in Germany goes from Oberhausen near the River Rhine to Berlin.

The A2 starts at a junction with the A3 at Oberhausen, just east of the Rhine in the Ruhr area. It heads east, past Dortmund, Hanover, and Magdeburg, and ends at the A10 Berlin Ring Road.

Significant sections of the motorway were upgraded to dual three lane carriageways in the 1990s-2000s.
