Balbriggan services, operated by Applegreen, are the first motorway service station to have been opened in Ireland – close to Junction 5 of the M1 in 2008. They are not, however, official TII services and are therefore not signed from the M1 itself, or indeed from the R132, on which they lie.
The larger Lusk services, which opened 3 km further south on the M1 in 2010, are also operated by Applegreen.
