The foundation to the central pier can be seen in the middle of the photo. Partly engulfed by infill tipped when the road was cut into the cliff in the 1950s.

Recently it was suggested that the A37 could reopen as a relief road into Douglas which suffers severe traffic congestion at peak hours. The cost of repairs at Horse Leap was put at �2 million. It was not proceded with.
