The R736 in County Wexford is a cross-country route that links New Ross to Rosslare without passing through Wexford town.
It starts on the N25 at Ballynabola, some 8 km east of New Cross, and first runs south-east to Wellingtonbridge, where it briefly joins the R733 to cross the River Corock. The R736 then heads south for some 5 km to reach Carrick-on-Bannow before turning eastward to run roughly parallel to the south coast (though a little way inland), before meeting the N25 at Tagoat.
After a staggered (right then left) crossing of the national road, a final 2.7-km-long northbound section brings us to the outskirts of Rosslare town and a junction with the R740, which leads towards Rosslare Strand railway station and the seafront.
