Scapa Roundabout is a relatively new roundabout on the southern edge of Kirkwall. It connects the A963 with the B9148, but as the A963 heading south out of the town centre has become the main through route, bypassing the narrow streets around the Cathedral, it also connects the A961 and A964. The A963 turns to the east here, onto Holm Branch Road which soon meets the A961 at a TOTSO junction, with the route south out of town getting priority. To the west, the unclassified Foreland Road passes the hospital and then meets the A964 at a similar TOTSO junction. Finally, the B9148 heads south to meet the B9053 at the head of Scapa Bay.
