The C208 runs through Chorley Borough Council's area of Lancashire, and forms a very popular link between Horwich and Darwen avoiding the need to use the A666. It is a mix of single track road and generic S2, and is heavily used by motorcyclists as this and the adjoining section in Blackburn with Darwen (itself not a C road) form the only road link to Rivington Pike.
