Worsley Braided Interchange
Main Article: Worsley Braided Interchange
Worsley Braided Intechance is the Spaghetti Junction of the North. It's about 2.5 miles from one end to the other, sprawling over Linnyshaw Moss. The junction is notable in that, where the M60 clockwise splits off a slip road for the M61, you can draw a line roughly East–West and count eighteen lanes of motorway running in parallel.

Bolton West services (originally known as Anderton services) were located between junctions 6 and 8. They were recognised as being possibly the worst MSA on the British motorway network. This situation changed in August 2011 with the completion of the new Rivington services which comprised of a total site rebuild and are operated by EuroGarages.
