Crossways Roundabout is a five arm roundabout in Gretna, where the B7076 (former A74) meets the B721 (former A75). It takes its name from the Crossways Inn (now called the Gretna Inn) in the north west corner of the junction. The main purpose of the junction is not connecting the two B roads, but providing access to the Gretna Gateway shopping village which lies to the east, between the village and the motorway. This busy site has become a popular destination and stopping point for thousands of people every year, putting a lot of traffic onto the local road network. The spaced out nature of the various sliproads for the motorway means that there is a lot of crossing traffic, particularly for vehicles on a northbound journey, which the roundabout allows to flow. Most arms of the junction have single approach and exit lanes. However, the northern arm of the B7076 and the exit from the car parks both have two lanes for turning traffic. In addition, the unclassified Sarkfoot Road has a short bypass lane for traffic turning left onto the B721.
