Dans Road Roundabout

Dans Road Roundabout is a large, five-way roundabout, linking the B5178 (Warrington Road) with the A562 through-route, comprising of: the NSL single carriageway Fiddlers Ferry Road towards Widnes, and the 50mph dual carriageway Dans Road towards Penketh and Warrington. The roundabout itself and all other roads run at 30mph.

Also joining the roundabout is the Gorsey Lane, serving local industry around Moss Bank, and Barrows Green Lane, serving some residential suburbs including Barrows Green, and terminating on the A5080.

Historical junction layout - two t-junctions

The surrounding road layout - namely where the main Gorsey Lane bends around its directly straight counterpart, and the now Weates Close - suggests that the junction was once a pair of T-junctions, in which Fiddlers Ferry Road did not exist, as can be seen on old OS maps.
