NCN 25 starts at a junction with NCN2 outside Bournemouth Pier. From here it follows a traffic free route beside the River Bourne, before cutting across Parkstone on residential roads to Baiter Park. Here there is another traffic free section, before passing through the old town of Poole. From here, we roughly shadow the A350, with NCN 25 eventually running alongside that dual carriageway. Then it's alongside the A349, Broadstone Way, continued as the C300 - where the A349 TOTSOs the cycle path has a dedicated signal that is unusually (for these parts) automatic, without the need to press a beg button. However the tarmac surface of this section is quite bumpy, unlike earlier sections. Then NCN 25 goes onto the gravel Castleman Trailway, following the route of the old rail line to Broadstone and Wimborne.
