The B3060 was a short road acting as a northern bypass of Bournemouth.
The road consisted of Castle Lane, which connected the A35 with the A347, allowing traffic to avoid the centre of town.
As Bournemouth grew the road became more important, especially as it served newly built suburbs. It was therefore upgraded to Class I status around 1960, becoming the A3060, which it remains.
