The R634 connects the N25 at Ballyvergan, 5 km west-south-west of Youghal in County Cork, to the N72 at Tallowbridge, 1 km north of Tallow in County Waterford. It heads first eastward, following the original route of the N25 to the mouth of the Blackwater estuary, then turns north to run through Youghal town centre before crossing the River Tohrig and setting a generally northwestward course towards Tallow.
