The A3218, the highest numbered A32xx road in the 1922 Road Lists, is an urban A-road in west London.
The road starts on the A4 opposite the Victoria & Albert Museum. In 1922, the A4 followed Brompton Road, so when it was rerouted it took on the easternmost few yards of the original A3218.
The A3218 heads west and crosses the Exhibition Road shared space before passing South Kensington tube station where it TOTSOs right at traffic lights. It continues vaguely westwards along Old Brompton Road. This seems surprisingly narrow for a Class I road and in a number of places marked parking bays mean the usable part of the road is too narrow for central white lines.
After a few bends the road crosses the southbound and then northbound routes of the A3220 at consecutive sets of traffic lights. It then skirts Brompton Cemetery and Earls Court to cross the West London Line by West Brompton station. The road then continues along Lillie Road; this starts off straight but after crossing the B317 at double mini-roundabouts it becomes winding as well.
The A3218 continues to the far end of Lillie Road. It ends by skirting the northern edge of the Lillie Road Recreation Ground to reach traffic lights on the A219.
