The C7 starts on the B805 (former A801) in Maddiston and heads east, passing under the new line of the A801 and then over the Union Canal to reach Whitecross. After winding through the village, it passes under the railway and continues east to meet the B825 at Linlithgow Bridge, just before that route terminates on the A803.
