The C3 is broken into 3 pieces, the middle section of which is not connected to the rest of the road network within Falkirk Council area. The two gaps in the C3 are filled by the C3 (Stirling), reflecting the roads past history under the same local authority. It starts on the A88 at Dunmore near South Alloa and heads south across Dunmore Moss to the council Boundary. Less than a mile to the south, it resumes for about 100m at Bridgend, before another break of about half a mile. The final section continues to run south, around Letham Moss, crossing the M9, and coming to an end on the A88 on the edge of Stenhousemuir.
