Junctions related to the A737

Clerksbridge Toll Roundabout sits about a mile north of Beith on the A737. It is a four arm roundabout serving two minor roads, although it replaces three closely spaced T junctions. The primary reason behind the construction of the roundabout appears to have been related to an increase in traffic for the Loanhead Quarry a short distance to the east of the junction. Otherwise the side roads are comparatively quiet. The roundabout has been built to the east of the original line of the A737, which can still be traced as property access, but its construction has obliterated the two older T junctions on the eastern side of the road, leaving only that to the west identifiable. The two roads to the east have been realigned to meet before the roundabout, therefore giving only a single side road on this side.
