This article is about the original B6040 in Heath, Derbyshire.
For the modern B6040 in Worksop, see B6040.
For the modern B6040 in Worksop, see B6040.
The B6040 formed a short link, of the type so popular in the original classification, between the B6037 and A617 near Heath in Derbyshire.
The B6040 was classified from the start, and was probably downgraded during the 1960s, when the M1 was being built, as much of the B6040 is now underneath M1 J29; what remains is barely recognisable as a former classified road.
