Eastwood Toll is the junction of the A77 and the A727 in Giffnock, East Renfrewshire. The two routes meet at a four arm roundabout, with the A77 dualled to the north and south. The A727 to the west is S4, while to the east it quickly reduces to a standard single carriageway. As a result, all four arms have two approach and departure lanes, although the eastern arm of the A727 is not lined as such, and the right hand lane soon becomes a right turn lane at the first junction. The roundabout was built as part of the Eastwood Toll Diversion, which saw the A77 moved to the west on a new section of dual carriageway. The 0.3 mile dual carriageway was opened in 1963 per the 1963 Scottish Development Department Report, although not shown at all on the 1965 OS One Inch Map. The cost of the scheme was £0.23 million, including the new approaches to north and south.
The Historical site of Eastwood Toll therefore lies a short distance to the east, and the original line of the A77 can be traced along Fenwick Place to the north and Mains Avenue to the south. Neither of these roads now connect to the A77, with both being accessed from the A727. The old junction had become a Fiveways junction, with the residential Greenhill Avenue heading south east, passing the war memorial and parish church on the opposite side to Mains Avenue. Prior to the opening of the Glasgow Southern Orbital route in 2005, the A727 was numbered as the A726, being one of the original sections of that route.
