Loughbrickland is a junction between the A1 and the B3. It is located between Lough Brickland and Loughbrickland village, taking its name from both!

The junction was created in 1978 with the opening of the Loughbrickland bypass. Initially, the junction was at-grade, with an accommodation underpass providing a route across the dual carriageway A1 for pedestrians and farm access. However, following crossover accidents at the junction, the accommodation underpass was converted for use by all traffic.

The underpass, however, was low, and supported a single traffic lane only, so in 2009 a new underpass was constructed next to the old one.
