Sprucefield Roundabout is junction 7 of the M1.
Once the major fork between traffic heading from Belfast on the M1 for the west of Northern Ireland (along the M1) and Newry and Dublin (along the A1). Originally built as a trumpet leading to a roundabout, the west facing slips were closed off in 2003 (to remove weaving) and a new road and junction opened up a short way to the west. Now this junction (junction 7) of the M1 is signed for Lisburn and Springfield, with long distance traffic being signed via junction 8 and the A101.
The junction is named after a nearby stately home which used to exist nearby.
